The Alkoç family’s tanning journey, which began in 1957 and has continued for three generations, entered a new era with the establishment of the KAZLICESME R&D Center in 2002. Under the leadership of Bilal Alkoç, innovative technologies were developed to transform leather into a valuable protein source. As a result, the İskefe and Halavet brands achieved significant advancements in leather processing, first in Turkey and later on a global scale. By fully integrating with the food and pharmaceutical industries, İskefe has redefined leatherworking as a craft and, through İskefe Academy, has trained nearly 1,000 artisans—building a strong and skilled workforce at an industrial level.

By 2027, our goal is to establish a fully integrated İskefe ecosystem across 21 key locations with high cattle populations, where collagen refineries, collagen product facilities, and leather processing plants will operate in synergy. With a strong commitment to sustainability and traceability, we strive to produce high-quality, environmentally responsible products while paving the way for global leadership in the industry.

At İskefe, we are dedicated to environmental responsibility through innovative, eco-friendly production technologies. Our raw material processing facilities actively minimize waste, while our manufacturing processes prioritize sustainability. Through continuous R&D efforts, we develop cutting-edge solutions to ensure our products are both sustainable and traceable. Additionally, our investment in solar energy aims to transition our factories to fully renewable power, significantly reducing our carbon footprint. We value human labor and consider profit-sharing with our employees a core principle. By processing cattle hide at its source, we aim to retain added value within the local economy while contributing to broader social and economic well-being.
